Ella Jeffery is a poet, editor and critic. Her debut book of poems, Dead Bolt, won the Anne Elder Award, the Puncher & Wattmann Prize for a First Book of Poems, and was shortlisted for the Mary Gilmore Award. Her poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in The Kenyon Review, Amsterdam Review, Ambit, HEAT, Australian Book Review, Best Australian Poems, Meanjin and many others. She is the recipient of fellowships and awards including a Red Room Poetry Fellowship, a Queensland Writers Fellowship, a Mick Dark Fellowship for Environmental Writing, and a Queensland Premier’s Young Publishers and Writers Award. Originally from Lismore in northern New South Wales, she now lives in Brisbane.
